West Coast Craft/WCC
Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion
Nov. 16 and 17, 2013
10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A celebration of design and craft with a particular sensibility, West Coast Craft features a variety of media including paper, wood, leather, and metal. All of the craftspeople and artists featured in this two-day event come from the west coast of the United States. Their works reflect a certain ineffable “West Coast lifestyle.”
Over 100 vendors will have booths at the Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion. All of their work is made in the USA, either by hand or by machine. Some of the crafters you’ll see include Gravel & Gold Goods, which carry women’s clothing and accessories. Scabby Robot creates unique leather and suede bags with playful, simple designs. Adeline Jewelry takes inspiration from nature and geometric shapes, working with oxidized sterling silver and semi-precious stones.
Food will be available at West Coast Craft. Outerlands, a super hip brunch place near San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, will serve up some yummy goodness. Drink it down with a cup of joe from Four Barrel Coffee. Get gourmet sweet treats from Sugar Knife, including decadent brittle like the Filthy Pig (bourbon, bacon and pecans), and Cookies & CREAM marshmallows (Bailey’s Irish Cream, vanilla bean cream, and chocolate cookies).
Admission to West Coast Craft is free. Parking is available at Fort Mason Center. Weekend rates are $2 for one hour, $5 for under 2 hours, $7 for 2 to 3 hours, $10 for 3 to 4 hours, and $12 for over 4 hours. Bike racks are also available. You can also take public transit on the Muni bus lines 10, 28, 30, or 82x. Buses 22, 47, and 49 stop a few blocks away from the Center.
