Embodiments: Masterworks of African Figurative Sculpture
January 31st-July 5th
Featuring 120 treasures from sub-Saharan Africa, this exhibit offers a rare, enlightening glimpse into a profound world of art with spirituality at its core. Nearly every sculpture hails a different culture, representing roughly 110 distinct groups, as each magnificent piece tells the story of its people.
Janet Delaney: South of Market
January 17th-July 19th
Focused on the radical changes and forceful gentrification that occurred in the South of Market (SoMa) district of San Francisco during the 1970s and ’80s, this collection of over 40 pictures shines a light on a dark chapter of Bay Area history all too often forgotten.
