Farmer’s Market

The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is located in front of the Ferry Building and also in the rear plaza overlooking the San Francisco Bay. Smaller markets occupy the front market on Tuesday and Thursday. The Saturday market is one of the most noted farmers markets in the United States. The market offers vegetable, fruits, flowers, herbs, regional artisan cheeses, breads, and meats and eggs from local farmers. There is also an assortment of prepared foods for those who want to stop for a snack and refreshment while shopping.

The Ferry Building Marketplace offers restaurants and cafés that serve local cuisine representative of the quality and cultural diversity of San Francisco. The Market Street shops at the foot of the historic Ferry Building offer everything from artisan cheeses to the freshest of local fish. The restaurant and bar that anchors the Ferry Building, MarketBar, offers chef-inspired seasonal Mediterranean food consisting mostly of farm to table ingredients sold at the Marketplace and the weekly farmers market.
