San Francisco's Coit Tower

Take a scenic hike up Telegraph Hill or take the #39 Muni bus to Coit Tower, one of San Francisco's most iconic skyline fixtures. Ride the elevator up the white slender tower to the observation deck and see the most extraordinary panoramic views of downtown, the San Francisco Bay, and the Golden and Bay bridges.
Not to be missed are the amazing murals adorning the lobby portraying the life of working class Californians during the depression era.

Directions

Follow the signs from Stockton Street in North Beach to drive to Coit Tower. For a scenic hike to the tower, climb Greenwich Street stairs or the Filbert Street stairs, which pass through the Grace Marchant Gardens on Telegraph Hill. Parking spaces are limited at the peak of the hill.

Is there an admission cost to take the elevator to the top of Coit Tower?


Lobby murals and the outside vista points are free. To ride to the observation deck is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and youths, $1.50 for children ages 5-11, and free for children under 4. An additional $2 fee will apply to non-residents of San Francisco.
 

What stop on the 39 bus do I get off to go to Coit Tower?


Take a scenic ride from Pier 39 or Washington Square on Muni #39 bus and jump off directly in front of Coit Tower.
