Sausalito Art Festival 2013A gorgeous coastal community perched on a hillside against San Francisco Bay, Sausalito is a picturesque enclave known for fine arts, fine dining and fine living. Each year this Bay Area city hosts an exciting art festival on Labor Day weekend, and this year the 61st Annual Sausalito Art Festival takes place from August 31 through September 2. Along with some of the country’s most brilliant works of visual art, you’ll find a top lineup of live music along with gourmet vendors selling food, fine wines and craft beers. Browse exhibits of pastels, travel photography, graphic art, contemporary cowboy paintings and much more. Find fun family activities along the waterfront, meet talented artists and buy tickets to the Annual Benefit Gala to support the local arts scene while you dine, drink and dance.
Ferry to Sausalito
It’s easy to hop on the ferry and cross the sparkling waters of San Francisco Bay to Sausalito, a small but beautiful community located just north of the city across the Golden Gate Bridge. The Sausalito Ferry leaves the San Francisco Ferry Terminal Building (located on the waterfront and not far from the Griffon!) numerous times each day – and this ferry trip has been ranked the second-best in the world by the American Society of Travel Writers!
