Golden Gate Park
Vast in scope and size,
Golden Gate Park stretches over 1,000 acres from east to west, reaching nearly
all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Visitors could easily spend several days
exploring the park’s museums and attractions. One of the most popular is the
Music Concourse, a beautiful place to sit and relax with a picnic, whether or
not live performances are underway in the art nouveau band shell. Flanking the
Concourse are the de Young Museum, the Japanese Tea Garden, and the California
Academy of Sciences. The de Young is home to an impressive art collection, and
the wonderful café serving a full menu of lunch items is accessible to the
public without having to pay museum admission. The Japanese Tea Garden is home
to a gorgeous garden as well as teahouse serving delightful snacks and green
tea. Other wonderful Golden Gate Park attractions include the Conservatory of
Flowers, the Koret Children’s Center playground, and the Carousel.
