Exploratorium

Exploratorium Don’t just look, join in the fun and become part of the all-ages audience who have been flocking to the cutting-edge Exploratorium museum since it opened in 1969. Mixing science and art, this engaging attraction has not only been a leader in educating the public about science, it has become a world-famous destination as one of the best museums in San Francisco. As we all know, there is no better way to learn than to doing a project yourself. That’s the unique philosophy behind the Exploratorium that packs in an over 1,000 amazing interactive exhibits, all designed onsite by the talented brainiacs working behind the scenes.

On April 17, 2013, the museum gets a brand new facelift as it reopens in a stunning new building that dramatically extends over San Francisco Bay on Pier 15 along the Embarcadero. Until the grand reopening, this outrageously fun museum of science is holding events around the city thanks to its “On the Move” pop-up exhibits and street parties. Upcoming Exploratorium events include neighborhood “roadshows” which feature trucks filled with participatory exhibits, film, food, and a beer garden for the over 21 kids at heart. So rev up your brain and get in on the fun!
