Embarcadero Ice Rink In San Francisco
Skating in San Francisco is a delight during the mild winter nights. So head on over to the Holiday Ice Rink at Embarcadero Center, just a quick walk from the Hotel Griffon. Presented by Hawaiian Airlines, the largest outdoor ice rink in the Bay Area opens November 5, 2014 and remains open through January 4, 2015. For more than 25 years, friends, couples, and family members have enjoyed taking to the ice under the sun as well as under the stars. Yes, the rink is open all day beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continues into the night, until 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It's also open until 11:30 on December 31, making it a great way to celebrate New Year's Eve. Admission is $10 for adults and $6.00 for kids 7 and younger.

Another highlight of the season is the annual Building Lighting Ceremony & Carnival on November 21. While it begins at 4:00 p.m. with a myriad of activities, everyone is invited to come to the Holiday Ice Rink at 6:00 p.m. for skating and live performances by local musicians. There will also be a preview of the show "Let's Celebrate!" by Disney on Ice. A fireworks extravaganza is next followed by the main event, which is the lighting of the office towers that comprise the Embarcadero Center. There are 17,000 lights in all and they are quite a sight to see up close and personal.
