de Young Museum

de Young Museum San Francisco, California Located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, the de Young Museum boasts a world-class art collection from around the globe and across time. In 2005, after a top to bottom renovation, the de Young reopened its doors to the public, completely redone. Visitors walk in—and over—the work of renowned sculptor Andy Goldsworthy before they even buy their tickets. The permanent collection includes works by Man Ray, Richard Diebenkorn, and Roy Lichtenstein. Special exhibits are a highlight of the de Young. Currently, visitors can see Chuck Close and Crown Point Press: Prints and Processes and Real to Real: Photographs from the Traina Collection. Enjoy lunch or a snack at the beautiful de Young Café, which features organic, sustainable, and locally grown foods. Visitors can also enjoy the Sculpture Garden, just outside the Café. On Fridays, from 5 to 8:45 p.m., enjoy live music, dance, film, or other programs, which are free, along with drinks and a special dining menu.
