SF Pride Parade 2014

San Francisco Pride Parade 2014 One of the biggest events of the year, the annual SF Pride Parade has become an institution now in its 44th year. The LGBT community, together with its thousands of allies and advocates, will be taking to the streets of downtown San Francisco on Sunday, June 29, 2014 starting at 10:30 a.m. The weekend-long festivities culminate with the parade, the main event with this year’s theme “Color Our World With Pride”.  You can pack accordingly to join the thousands of people putting on their brightest and boldest colors, donning their most outlandish outfits and raising the now universally known rainbow flag. Stand behind pride and move forward for freedom in California, where the high court ruling in favor of same-sex marriages started a wave of change that has swept across the United States.

While the parade is free, you can make a $5 donation at the gate to stand up for pride, with the proceeds going directly to 40+ local nonprofit organizations. Pride weekend starts Saturday, June 28th, with the Sunday Pride Parade kicking off from Beale Street along Market and ending at Market and 8th Street in the heart of San Francisco. Celebrating LGBT culture and liberation, the festivities resonate with the recent victories for same-sex couples, along with the renewed efforts to bring marriage equality to all 50 states. Expect to see the unexpected, with spectacular, creatively crafted floats and a lineup more like a legion of marching parade-goers.

Be sure to reserve your stay at our San Francisco hotel in advance, as rooms will be hard to come by near the heart of downtown.
