Rock ‘n Roll Marathon

San Francisco Rock ‘N' Roll Marathon For music lovers and marathon enthusiasts, there is no better event than San Francisco’s Rock 'N'Roll Half Marathon. A series of marathon races with stops around the United States and the world, this fun touring event features loud rock and roll music blasted along the course, jamming tunes to inspire the runners - from heavy metal and classic rock to indie favorites and arena anthems. The marathon series comes to the Bay Area on April 7 and always attracts a fun, young crowd of runners and spectators. Featuring a looped course that tours San Francisco, crosses the Golden Gate Bridge and starts and finishes by Fort Mason and Aquatic Park, this loud race event cruises along the San Francisco waterfront. Everyone ends up together at the finish line festival, where runners can unite with their family and friends to celebrate the accomplishment and enjoy live music and dancing, refreshments and more.

One of the top San Francisco running events, the Transamerica Rock 'n'Roll Half Marathon takes place in 2013 on Sunday, April 7 starting at 7:00AM. Although the race is sold out and no longer accepting competitors, spectators are more than welcome to join in the fun. Watching the race is free, and this unique SF marathon features rock and roll music all along the course as well as an exciting finish line festival at the end. Arrive early for the best view of the marathon route, and bring a jacket, as the early morning weather in the Bay can be quite chilly in early April.
