Enjoy Mardi Gras in San Francisco at “Fat Tuesday in the Fillmore” on March 4. The Eighth Annual Mardi Gras festival will fill the historic Fillmore Music District with an array of colorful attractions, including street artists, performers, live music and a masquerade ball.
The celebration will begin at 5.00 p.m. with a free blues concert in the Fillmore Plaza. At 7:00 p.m., a festive processional will lead the way through the Fillmore Corridor to the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. There, guests will enjoy food, beverages and a variety of specials at Fillmore's top clubs, restaurants and businesses.
The crown jewel of the city's Fat Tuesday festivities, the Masquerade Ball will be held at the West Bay Conference Center, where party-goers will be treated to live musical performances from Mr. “C", Zydeco and Rhythm and Blues, Henry Clement and his band, along with an array of dance tunes. The event will also feature plenty of New Orleans-style food, raffles, a costume contest and lots of partying.
Advance purchase tickets are $45 for one person or $80 per couple. On-site tickets are $50 for one person and $90 per couple. Price of admission includes beads, dinner and a wristband for one beverage and corridor specials.
